Cape Rey Carlsbad Beach, a Hilton Resort and Spa

Our brief one-night stay was truly unforgettable, thanks to Kevin's exceptional check-in experience. He exuded warmth, courtesy, and infectious enthusiasm, setting the tone for an incredible stay, especially since it was our first visit to this stunning property. We're already counting down the days until our next visit, when we'll indulge in the full array of luxurious amenities and make the most of our time here. The ocean views from our private balcony were simply breathtaking. Thank you!

Our recent stay at the Cape Rey Hotel in Carlsbad, CA was absolutely wonderful from start to finish. The property itself is stunning—nestled right across from the ocean with breathtaking views, beautifully maintained grounds, and a relaxing coastal vibe that immediately puts you at ease. What truly made our visit exceptional, though, was the outstanding service we received from the Food & Beverage team. Greg, the Food & Beverage Supervisor, went above and beyond to ensure our dining experiences were memorable. His warm hospitality, attention to detail, and genuine care made us feel like valued guests rather than just visitors. Greg’s waitstaff reflected his leadership perfectly—each member of the team was friendly, professional, and attentive without ever being intrusive. Whether it was breakfast overlooking the ocean or a cozy evening meal, every interaction was filled with kindness and warmth. The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and served with a smile every time. It’s rare to find a hotel where the staff’s energy and care truly elevate the entire experience, but Cape Rey has achieved exactly that. We left feeling refreshed, appreciated, and eager to return. Thank you, Greg and the entire Cape Rey team, for making our stay so special!

This was a solid 4 Star experience PROS Located adjacent to beach Friendly Staff Hotel very clean Grounds are beautiful Bus Stop 5 min away Restaurant and Spa on site Bicycles avail - Cost included in Resort Fee Shuttle available - within 5 miles Cons Far from town Cost seems high Didn't really feel like a 'resort' Room decor rather plain Parking is expensive We asked for late check out, but we were told the latest time available was 12:30p due to 'high occupancy'- this felt off : it is February and hotel didn't feel busy. I rated 'up' because: - Check in experience was super. Bob was very welcoming, and provided us with an upgrade. He explained the 'Blue Chip' program- which I love. We were given a blue poker-like chip to hand to any employee who we felt provided excellent service. We were provided a $30 food & beverage allowance as Diamond members Figuring out who to give the blue chip to was difficult. Everyone we met was very polite and friendly. Standouts were Riley and Eric at the restaurant. Ultimately, we gave it to Blake, in valet. He brought us to the village in the hotel shuttle. Super polite and professional. All in all, we had a great stay

My wife and I had the most incredible stay at the Cape Rey! From the moment we walked in, we knew that this experience would be extra special, and we were absolutely correct. BIG shoutout to Kevin who checked us in (and to the other front desk agent from New Zealand!!)… WOW! We felt welcomed and right at home from the first moment. The hotel is immaculate and the room was *next level*!! The beds were some of the most comfortable hotel beds we ever slept in and the pool and hot tub were excellent as well. Thanks to all of the wonderful staff at the Cape Rey for an unforgettable stay!!

We had a recent stay at the Cape Rey with another family and the staff was incredibly wonderful, everyone from valet, front desk, to house keeping. The staff really makes the difference and I applaud the Cape Rey for really investing in their staff. Especially Stephanie (from Oceanside, I saw on her badge), she not only helped us at the front desk, she helped us at the pool/game area, and provided us with towels to our room (it really seemed like she took on whatever tasked that was needed around the property and ownership of her role) and with a positive attitude! Her work ethic and great personality really shone and we were very impressed and will definitely recommend to Cape Rey and will be returning. Also, we enjoyed their live music!

It is a lovely resort with excellent amenities. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay a positive one. The location is good, but beach access does require getting across a major thoroughfare. Food and beverages were quite nice, including the crab cakes, beetroot salad, and seafood choices. Again, great wait and bar staff. We will return when we need to stay in the area.

Our stay at Cape Rey has been excellent. For anyone planning a visit, I strongly recommend choosing an ocean-view room - the scenery and ambiance add so much to the experience. We also visited the spa and had an incredible treatment that helped us unwind completely. It was the perfect way to relax, recharge, and melt away stress. One small detail that we truly appreciated: the hotel allows UberEats deliveries directly to your room. It’s a simple convenience, but it makes the stay feel even more guest-friendly:) Overall, we’re very happy and enjoying every moment here.

This place was a gem. The rooms were very clean, and the aesthetic was very nice and cozy. It’s in a great little spot that’s quiet, but also offers quick access to lots of things to do. The restaurant was delicious and the servers were very kind and attentive. The hotel staff were absolutely wonderful and so kind and helpful. Everyone we came across seemed to genuinely care about their guests and enjoy their jobs. When they heard that we had some issues during our travel, they went even more above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay. We cannot say enough good things about the people and this place!
